Why would you buy a New XRF Analyzer VS a “good used unit”?  It might be confusing to find units on eBay selling the used a Portable XRF for $20,000 while a new XRF quotes in at nearly $40,000.   I personally found 2 very similar units and this is what a dealer had to say to explain the 2X mark up.   The price difference between XRF units is a factor of many things, including:

1) These are two similar but separate XRF units. The Delta Professional (DPO) and the

Delta Premium (DP).

2) The unit we offer is new, as opposed to a 2 year old used unit. The other unit may not even be insurable at this point.

3) Our unit comes with a 2 year factory warranty and is eligible for accident insurance upon request. Their warranty has likely run out.

4) The addition of software and hardware features making the DPO-6000 unit legal in Canada.

5) The DP-2000 is for alloy analysis, and unless expensive modes are added, will be useless in a mine setting.

6) Improved SDD, as well as Software updates and bug fixes.

7) GeoChem mode (The recent development that combined Soil Mode and Mining Mode into one).

8) Full local support.

hmmm … i say…
