Hello:

I understand the mantle rotates on a eccentric drive. How does the mainshaft pivot?

Hello Thomas,

The spider holds the top of the main shaft. The top bushing (spider bushing) is sort of hourglass shape so the top can pivot whilst the bottom is rotated around the eccentric.
