You loose crushing capacity.  Crushing and grinding equipment ( as well as all other mineral processing equipment) capacity is based on volume, the volume of material per unit of time that can go through it.

When the feed particle size is too large to cause serious damage to the equipment, whether soft or medium hardness, it will cause different damage to the equipment. Therefore, the feed particle size is too large to speed up the wear rate of the equipment.

Fine materials should not enter a jaw crusher because they tend to cause damage to the machine over time due to the small size and abrasive nature of the material. They can also clog or jam the machine, resulting in inefficient operation and reduced output.
