Effect of surface binding polymers on gold/cyanide leach kinetics/equilibrium (1 reply)

I have a leach feed thickener with a serious over-flocculation issue. Has anyone seen any papers/ data on the effect of synthetic flocculants on cyanide/ gold leach reactions? I know enough about the flocculant/ particle bond to know there will always be a reasonable covering of the particle and intuitively i am worried about steric hindrance at the particle surface (competing/ like charges) of the unbound acrylate functional groups and the anionic cyanide.

Anything would be helpful!

Hi Dane, I looked in http://www.onemine.org/ and found nothing specific to the effect of flocculant on leaching rates. I just know that too much is bad...
