Carbon harvest time (1 reply)

I just want to ask on how to calculate the harvest time of carbon in cyanide leaching. Its the time that the carbon will reach 1500 grams/tonne? The carbon loading is linear.

Thank you for answering 🙂

Hello Louise,

I am not sure how you are set up, however in our Demonstration plant we had 7 carbon columns arranged in successive order where one would take the overflow from the previous and so on.  We check the last column in line for silver breakthrough at which point we would harvest the last column and when refilled it would become the first column and the rest would get renumbered IE the second last is now last and we would start checking it for Silver breakthrough and so on.  Silver is usually in more plentiful supply and breaks through sooner than gold with gold not far behind so we would change it out when a few ppm silver shows up.

Hope this helps some
