Hi I have recently been involve in commissioning a filter belt. We are getting some loud howling noises coming from it and I have pretty well ruled out drive drum slipppage.

Any ideas?

Have you checked for vacuum leakage?

That is something we have been ascertaining still.

  1. Have you contacted the manufacturer to discuss this issue?
  2. Does the sound overwhelm senses or are you able to identify sound as coming from particular area of the process / equipment?
  3. Do you have access to sound monitoring equipment that could be used in troubleshooting?
  4. Does noise occur all the time, does intensity change, etc.
  5. Does noise occur without feed to filter?
  6. Does noise occur with vacuum not running?

Does not occur when there is nothing on the belt and of course only occurs when the vacuum is running

It appears to be coming from the drive end of the belt more than any other area, it was also occurring when the vendor was here but then it was more belt adjustment requirements ( not saying that is not still the issue)

Does it get worse as:
- belt is more heavily loaded
- vacuum is increased
