Hello everyone

I am working on pressure filter and I need some help about:

1) what is the best and fastest method for detecting the damaged cloth?

2) what are the parameters that affect on chamber filling when feeding is in progress in other words how can we maximise the weight of a cake in each cycle?

Thank you for your help

Visual, if there is a hole on the cloth it will enlarge soon, so the operator should check when cloth is being washed. Another symptom is that the filtrate will turn cloudy when the hole is big enough.

The method to maximise the weight is to feed the slurry in steps (time) of velocity (pressure) of the pump and fill the chambers in steps. Another parameter is slurry density, as thicker is better.

lots of thanks david. I want to know after then we understand a cloth had been damaged how can we find it?
what is your mean about feeding the slurry in steps of velocity?
thank you for your kind

You must determine the ramp of acceleration in such a way that the pump runs within ranges of operation:

Select the pumping system to develop the calibration tests. These tests would last between 2-4 days.
For tests it is required the resources to program the ramps of acceleration during the filling-filtration cycle, these tests will be repetitive and requires availability of resources during the tests.

The tests should be done with slurry.

It will be required access to the pump area, filter zone, and control room, where it will be programmed the starting ramps during operation and the tests for measurements and all related that is needed.
Program the ramps of acceleration according to what is determined in the tests.
Once the acceleration ramps are obtained and suitable operational speeds, the rate of filling will be evaluated for each operation cycle.
This will be done in a repetitive way until it is achieved the optimisation the filling system to the filters.

An example of this is showed below:

Ramp #1 % speed=45; time= 2 seconds
Ramp #2 % speed=48; time=38 seconds
Ramp #3 % speed=70; time=10 seconds

Each situation is unique.
