I am looking for best polymer for thickening Kaolin clay slurry without affecting its brightness value.

Anyone can help us in this regard? and aslo what should be the dosage of that polymer?

The kaolin can vary, but the water will vary!

Best ask one or two of of the major flocculant manufacturers to send you some flocculant samples and do some settling tests followed by brightness tests. They may be able to do some or all of this for you.

That all depends on what solids concentration the Kaolin slurry is that you want to settle as that will greatly affect dosage as will pH of the system. We do products for this exact application and supply most of the major Kaolin producers, we even do products that settle kaolin and enhance optical brightness. Without more detail on the application its really difficult to comment any further but happy to help, send samples or carry out test work for you

BASF's chemistry has worked with several kaolin plants.  Try the Magnafloc 336, Magnafloc 919, and Magnafloc 24.
