Dear all,

We are in the oil an gas industry and we use a WEMCO flotation cell to recover oil from the produced water before discharge using polymer.

In order to protect the vessel angainst corrosion we thought of installing Anodes but We do not know if there was Anode installed from the onset.

If applicable, how best can we acheive this without disrupting fluids dynamics in respectives cells

Best regards

Hi Celestin,

I checked with a guy smarter than I and his answer was "I've never seen a Wemco cell with a cathodic protection anode installed.  Not sure, but cells may be constructed using low-grade stainless.  Anode installation would not affect the dynamics of the cells - they just aren't that sensitive (can't stop the wave)."

I agree that your anodes with have no effect on the cell's fluids dynamics.

Don't sweat the small stuff.
