Cu-Pb Bulk and Zn two product flotation Metal Balance Calculation Problem (1 reply and 1 comment)

We have a problem in the calculation of flotation concentrated tonnage. Flotation circuit is taking place in two stages. Getting Cu-Pb bulk concentrate first stage and getting Zn in the second stage.

I use two product metal balance formula. Bulk concentrate for getting. Can I collect Pb and Cu assays as in the pictures I have added ?

I think your modified three-products formula will give error to determine the tonnage of the bulk concentrate. The typical formula (left picture) can give reliable results when copper or zinc assays are considered in the calculation process. Also, if you use lead assays instead of copper assays. The reason is simple, they should not be reported in the zinc concentrate. In your formula you added lead assays to the copper assays trying to get one assay. There will be problems with the estimated tonnage of the bulk concentrate (overestimation).

A reconciliation process should be considered to get a more accurate estimation of the tonnage of bulk concentrate. The error with the tonnage of zinc concentrate is in the range.

You can compare the results using the standard three products formula and your modified formula. In this way, you will realize the errors.

Thank you for your comment. I'm looking for different perspectives. I'm already doing experiment and checks.
