Flotation for de-icing salt production (2 replies)

Do any company use flotation for producing de-icing salt? I have an ore with ~80%NaCl and I'd like to produce a 91%NaCl salt for de-icing. Have you heard about companies that did it?

I also would like to produce food salt (97%NaCl) with flotation, but I'm afraid that collectors for anhydrite ( sodium alkyl sulfates, alkylammonium chlorides) might be toxics. Have you heard of any other collector?

http://windsorsalt.com/careers/ uses just crushing and screening to produce table salt.

http://www.potashcorp.com gets de-icing salt  from the flotation separation.

So just wondering what is the Pb chloride about at the head of the circuit shown?
