It is possible to expect overfrothing. The operator should be able to detect the problem and try to reduce the addition of frother. The problem is related to the froth stability. Sometimes, increase the addition of xanthate could be useful. When the ores comes from the deposit, some oily fluids could be mixed with ore and the flotation circuit will not be stable. It will not be possible to get an operation in steady state. An experienced operator and/or supervisor should study the froth to detect any problem.
