Are you familiar with metallurgical balances or the term Units?

  Wt % Assay Units
Stream   Energy Density Element 1 (%) Energy Density Element 1 (%)
Feed Type A A% a% a1% A% x a% A% x a1%
Feed Type B B% b% b1% B% x b% B% x b1%
Desired Blend 100% = sum ED/100% = sum E1/100% sum ED sum E1

You can work backwards, put in your desired energy density and vary the ratios of A% and B% to until you get the right mix. In this case I have two feeds but you can have more.  This is a tabular form of simultaneous equations.
