How can I control the rolling load/mass recovery using the pressure in the cyclone? (2 replies)

The cyclone has a amount that pass to underflow and the other to overflow, the rolling load it will be the underflow mass divided by the feed. How can I control this, only by feed pressure or inside pressure in the cyclone?

Depending on where you want the majority of the load to be reporting. You can either adjust your spigot size or the Vortex finder size. I'd would rather not fiddle with the VF, unless you are you have wiggle room in in target product size.

Get yourself one of the many mathematical models of hydrocyclones that are floating around.  Arterburn's model is one of the simplest, the Plitt model is more complete but also more complicated.  And there are others, you might even have one in your textbook from university that you can use.

Then play with the models and you can see for yourself what the variable you can control are and what is the effect of changing those variables.  As Katov said, one of the most important ways to "tune" a hydrocyclone is by changing the opening dimension of the vortex (overflow pipe) and spigot (underflow).
