Can any one suggest me an updated book on comminution (specially grinding, tumbling mills), which discusses about control, simulation and optimization of crushing and grinding machines and circuits.

I own Communition practices and advances in Communition by S. K. Kawatra and 'Mineral Comminution Circuits: Their Operation and Optimisation" by JKMRC.

It has been out since 1998 but is still a thorough introductory to mid level treatment with easy to follow explanations and good examples. If you are going to be working with the JKSimmet comminution simulator it is indispensable.

What do you Recommend as a great library of grinding books?

A good textbook for mineral processing is the SME Mineral Processing Plant Design, Practice and Control volume, which has good introductory sections on grinding. It is geared towards undergraduate students, but I still refer to it frequently.

The JKMRC book is heavy on modeling and, in my opinion, is not a good text for people of introductory or intermediate knowledge. Kowatra's volume is better, and I would recommend it as a follow-on to the SME textbook.

SME Mining Engineering Handbook are also good.
