Pebble mill if you can help me and explain the different  to me i will be happy.

2- in my plant the sag mill discharge has vibrating screen the overflow will goes to cone crusher is that why they calling it Pebble mill?

thank you

Actually the oversize of screen after AG or SAG mill is called pebble and then the cone crusher in this circuit is called pebble crusher. SAG mill is Semi-Autogenous Mill which there is up to 15% ball inside and AG mill is Autogenous Mill which there is no ball inside the mill.

Hope it helps

Hassannoori is correct.

See, the large openings in the SAG discharge grate are to let the large harder rocks (pebbles) come out and go to your crushers, the "pebble crusher" for easier size reduction.

Bob and Hassannoori have answered your question.  SAG mills will contain some degree of steel media, generally 8 - 12%.  SAG Mills tend to have large diameters and short lengths.  Pebble Mills, also called Tube Mills, use pebbles to grind grit to powder, and are long Mills with a small diameters.  Pebble Mills contain no steel grinding media

SAG mill there will be either steel balls or harder ore as grinding media . There may not be any cone crusher for grinding the vibrating screen oversize and the same is recirculated back to SAG .If the mine has also harder ore and majority softer ore, the harder ore may be utilised as grinding media after size reduction with necessary intermediate bin.
