Hello everyone

I'm hamid and from iran

I am working in a plant. At our plant we have a ball mill that grinds the strontium carbonate. this material is sticky and makes the mill choke. The informations of our mill are:

Diameter: 76 cm

Length: 282 cm

Rubber liner

Ball's diameter: 25% 50mm, 25% 40mm, 25% 30mm, 25% 20mm

F80: 15 mm

P80: 100 micron

what is your idea to eliminate this problem?

or what is your idea for strontium carbonate grinding?

Thankyou for your guidance

Some additional information:

What is moisture content of the strontium carbonate feed to mill?

Is this dry grinding? If so is the mill air swept?

Does mill tend to choke at the feed or discharge end or elsewhere?

What are dimensions of the mill interiors - including feed and discharge openings?

It is a batch mill. The feed is completely dry and the grinding is dry too. Mill tends to choke at the discharge. Interior diameter of mill is 70 cm and the feed is 15 cm and the discharge is 9 cm.

Feed and discharge openings
thank-you

salam Hamid jan

try to reduce volume of your feed that you fill in your mill in every batch.
i had similar experience with batch mill. when i fill the mill very much it will be chucked.

best regards

I have used additives in the past to assist flow of fine powders. This has included organic and nonorganic compounds. Reducing load to see impact sounds a useful starting point though.

Does this choking behaviour impact grinding performance?

Thankyou so much.
Can i ask that what was your additives? Our tonnage is low now. should we reduce that more?
