David appears to be correct.  I can't find any papers on onemine.org related to 'halite grindability' or 'halite work index'.

There are lots of labs around that can do a grinding test for you; collect an 8kg "representative" sample of halite and ask for a "Bond work index grindability test" at your desired product size (you need to specify the product 80% passing size in µm).

Thanks Alex
What if 80 % of the product doesn't pass through the mesh ,maybe 30 percent but not 80 % .
I am in a situation where I can't send the minerals, can't I use approximation by looking for materials with the same hardness and tenacity ...and use that constant
