Please help!

I want to know the method for recovering precious metals such as platinum, palladium rhodium from catalytic converters.

Thanks in advance!

First, automotive catalyst material is made either of a substrate (often an alumina oxide) coated with a precious metal containing wash coat, or of a metallic substrate with an aluminum oxide wash coat also containing precious metals.

To recovery the precious metals a hydrometallurgical process is used,  solvent extraction process, followed by electrowinning.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you elaborate on that hydrometallurgical process (solvent extraction)?

Warm Regards
