Processing of gold/silver tellurides is well documented in operations such as Emperor Mine in Fiji, Kalgoolie in Australia and Cripple Creek in Colorado, USA. Although all of these operations initially utilized roasting, in today’s world it certainly seems to be environmentally out-of-favor.

With the successful processing of refractory ores by bio-oxidation and the advent of mining companies recently embracing glycine leaching, are there any known operations incorporating both of these rather novel methods? It seems a natural marriage; both low-cost and not extremely complicated.
