how to know the ideal number of stage required to remove gold in CIP process

The number of stages is a tradeoff between capital cost and gold losses.  Typically more tanks are better than less to reduce short-circuiting and potential gold losses. More tanks = more cost in equipment.  You also need to consider the retention time in the CIP for the gold adsorption - 8 hours is fairly common.  As for the number of stages. 4 to 6 is also typical.
