Does anyone have an opinion on what is better for sampling slurries - poppet or cross-cut samplers?

Particularly, on gold cyanide leach feed samples.

An old adage for sampling was that in decreasing accuracy you have:

  1. All the stream all of the time
  2. All of the stream part of the time
  3. Part of the stream all of the time
  4. Part of the stream part of the time.

You are comparing 2 to 4.  All of the stream part of the time will always be more reliable and accurate than part of the stream part of the time.
