Hi

I am working on a ARL8860 instrument and the main use is for copper industry. they use fire assay technique to analyze precious metals. is there an individual "Fire assay Module" for this instrument? or it can be done just by calibrations?

Thanks

There is no replacement for fire assaying because the concentration is generally low for gold and silver in ores.  Fire assaying uses a much larger sample compared to other machines generally 30 grams of sample.  An iSpark is an immission spectroscopy device that "excites" a very small portion of the sample.  This machine is good for metals, alloys etc that are homogeneous.

I meant they want to analyse lead buttons extracted from fire assay crucibles. and ARL has another OES instrument (fire assay analyzer) designed for this purpose. I wanted to know whether there is a separate module on new model (ARL8860) or not.
