during the laboratory test for gold (specially for refractory gold ore), one of the test is GRADING ANALYSIS.

1- as in the refractory gold ore, the size of the gold grain is normally less than 10 t0 15 micron, what is the advantage of GRADING ANALYSIS test?  for example, we performed one test for zarshouran refractory gold re (Iran) and gold distributed evenly in all the screen interval.

really i coudn't understand the advantage of the screen metal analysis for the refractory gold ore.

thanks

The grading analysis indicates in what size fraction the gold is concentrated.  This is helpful to aid in understanding the best method to treat the ore - gravity, fine grinding, refractory pretreatment etc....  It is also very useful to use this test on tailings from a process to see what the distribution of the gold is that was not recovered.  This test is best done in conjunction with other tests like microscopy to evaluate the gold grain sizes.

In your case if the gold was distributed evenly it would be good to know if the gold grain sizes were all similar and what liberation size should be your target.
