Methods and Equipment for creating in house standard / MMCRMs (No replies)

Hello everyone,

I'm working in a multi-mineralic evaporite orebody for which a suitable CRM is not available. I have been trying to create  in house standards / MMCRMs over a few grade ranges (at cut off grade , averge of deposit and high grade) but after an initial attempt and submitting 25 samples for analysis I am not happy with the homogeniety.

I suspect some of this is down to insufficient mixing of the sample. My initial tests were conducted by selecting a rock sample of ~3kg from our mine which I suspected to be of uniform grade. The sample went through an inital crush before being ground using a ring and puck mill. I then attempted to mix and homogenise the powder  using a riffle splitter by manually splitting and recombining the splits.

Can anyone provide some information regarding the generation of in house standards / MMCRMS and or suggest any equipment suitable for homogenising samples. I have read a bit about mechanical stirrers, v-blenders etc but most of these seem to be for pharmaceutical uses and carry a rather hefty price tag!
