Zinc information needed (No replies)

Hello everyone, 

I know this question doesn't really fit anywhere on this site but I am in need of some help with zinc sheet metal.   I am a metalshaper and have been asked by a customer to build a gas tank out of zinc sheet.  The sheets are .040" thick and 99.9% pure zinc.  This material is often used for counter tops and table tops in kitchens.   What I need to know is will gasoline attach the zinc sheet?   Not sure if anyone has any experience with zinc but I have searched everywhere for some answers and have come up with nothing.   The retailers of the sheets can't help, and the manufacturers won't help.   Simple question for anybody who might know.  Is it safe to make a gasoline tank out of zinc.   Thank you in advance for anyone that can help.
