How can I burn my old Carbon in order to recover gold from it? (2 replies and 2 comments)

I have some tons of old Carbon that I keep in my store room after Elution.

Their grade isn't economical enough to take them all for other Elution processes.

May I please know the details of controlled burning, which kind of heat source is the best (induction/electric/charcoal furnace?) temperature ranges?

Can such an operation be done in the backyard?  ie ,can it be kinda DIY?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I had seen a very interesting paper on the topic presented in the World Gold Conference 2017.

http://web.cim.org/com2017/conference/view_abs.cfm?paperNum=9348

The authors state to have recovered 94 % of the gold within the carbon using an incineration and leaching circuit.

I believe that they used a fluidized bed incinerator.

I am familiar with gold fluidized bed roasting. I guess that this process relates to that process to an extent.

Best regards

Alexandros
