Trash in elution column (1 reply)

We are using the alcohol Zadra method to treat our carbon.  However, due to the origin of the ore we are treating, we wind up with leaves, roots, etc. that catch on the carbon screen i.e. Trash in elution column.  Separating these plant products from the carbon is a very time consuming process.

Can we elute the carbon along with the plant products, or are we likely to have problems with our recovery?

Thanks for your help.

I think you should screen it out from the grinding circuit cyclone overflow. It really is not that hard/complicated. It might cost you $200 to build a trash screen with 1 cm holes in it.

You are going to have to separate it somewhere anyway. If you send it through all of the circuits it just ends back up in the circuit. So to just send it to the elution columns doesn’t solve the problem.
