hello all,

We have, tailing water treatment to reuse and avoid pipe scaling (due to gypsum) in plant, with addition of lime. but I realize that the sulfate ions increase after it goes some reduction. can you help me what caused the reformation of SO4-ions, which showed a reduction graph.

It is important to know the fresh water quality used in process to determine the generation of different ions during the metallurgical process. The level of sulphate can be higher if the water is nor treated properly. It is possible to use a scale inhibitor to minimize the problem. Also, a bleeding off should be practiced any time to release some ions. If your tailings deposit is old, try to review the mineralogical composition of the tailings.

appreciated Jorge!
yes, I have record of the fresh water quality, most ions generate in the process water. the plan is to treat and reuse it as fresh or raw water, is it possible? Can you please guide me how..! our plant is zinc dressing plant.
thanks again.

I think you have some problems with the excess of calcium and sulphate ions, which are higher than solubility of calcium sulphate. Some particles are deposited on the surface and interfere with the process. It will be important to know the reagents used in the process. It is possible to recycle water from tailings, try to use recycled water and fresh water in different ratios.
