Root cause analysis would be good preliminary before altering grinding conditions.

  1. This is working to understand what particles are being lost. Suggest sampling feed, con, tails, determining size distribution, and determining by size analysis chemical analysis of these three streams. This is initial data required to determine by size recovery, ie, are losses in fine, coarse and/or intermediate size fractions?
  2. What's changed around the ore or plant? Is this recovery loss a change from the past or has it always been the case?
  3. With that information in hand it will be time to consider some additional experiments or possible remedial actions.
