How can one improve the leaching of black shale ore? (2 replies)

I have ore with high black shale and direct leaching is giving up low recoveries some as low as 9%. Is there any way of improving the leaching process?

Black shale is organic-rich which will consume a large amount of cyanide.  Unfortunately the only efficient way is to remove the black shale from the leaching either by selective mining or a gravity circuit before the leaching.
