i am facing a problem of high loss of carbon as fine carbon after every strip about 2tones per month. i need help on pump to use or easy system which can reduce production of fine carbons

Hi Simon - there are many contributing factors to activated carbon loss from the choice of the carbon to how it is transported and regenerated. Far too many issues to discuss here.

You can contact me directly to discuss further if you wish

Hi Simon

2 tons per month is high. A few things to check:

  • Carbon type - coconut shell based carbon is best
  • Transport of carbon in Elution plant...avoid pumping, use water pressure or venturi systems to remove carbon out of the columns
  • Carbon screening - Use Rotaspiral screens to avoid vibrational damage to carbon granules
  • Regeneration - you may want a cool down zone to avoid thermal shock before quenching
  • All pipe bends in the carbon transport - sweeping bends
  • Avoid high velocity transportation of carbon in pipes

Hope this helps.

Hi Simon,

Try Blowcase  instead of pumps which avoids generation of fines while transportation.
