Our lab guy has asked about different types of rhodanine: apparently he found cheap stuff and expensive stuff. I thought that there was only one, but I never had to prepare it, myself.

An EPA procedure (https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2015-12/documents/9014.pdf) calls for 20 mg of p-dimethylamino-benzal-rhodanine, C12H12N2OS2, in 100 mL of acetone.

Is this the typical rhodanine and mix formula for titrating free cyanide in leach circuit samples?

It is correct, to determine free cyanide using silver nitrate titration, you can use rhodanine, It is common to use acetone to prepare the solution. Also, you can use potassium iodide. Both solutions are indicators.
