A potentiometric titration can be considered to determine the pH. The titration involves measuring and recording the millivolts or pH after the titrant agent is added in large increments initially, and smaller increments when the end point is approached. It is important to allow sufficient time to get the equilibrium. In order to determine the end point, the simplest procedure is to make a direct plot of potential as a function of reagent volume. The midpoint in the steeply rising portion of the curve is estimated visually and taken as the end point.
