GLASS TUBING AND GLASS ROD

Our glass tubing and rod is carried in stock in standard factory lengths of approximately five feet. Unless otherwise instructed, full lengths are supplied, packed in special cases, which are charged extra at cost. Orders for small quantities, which would not warrant the cost of a separate case, are cut to convenient lengths to fit the usual shipping cases.

Glass tubing and rod, as supplied by the factory varies in diameter, not only among different sections of the same specified size, but throughout the length of any individual section. To meet laboratory requirements we have adopted the following tolerances, according to which the tubing or rod is assorted for stock. These tolerances are checked at the middle of the section, and do not apply to variations through the length.

GLASS TUBING—For general use in connection with the blast-lamp. This tubing is supplied in standard factory lengths of approximately five feet. It is selected to comply with the tolerance specified above. Ends are knife-cut, but not annealed.

GLASS TUBING, Standard Wall, Pyrex Glass—In standard factory lengths of approximately 5 feet. Selected to comply with the diameter tolerances specified above. Recommended for laboratory use where sudden changes of temperature are involved and mechanical strength and high chemical stability are required. Packed in cases of approximately 50 pounds per case, except the 5 mm. size, which runs 25 pounds to the case.
