Multiple Unit Electric Furnaces
FURNACE, Muffle, Multiple Unit, Without Rheostat—An efficient and satisfactory furnace for a variety of laboratory operations, including the drying of precipitates, ash determinations, fusions, ignitions, heat treatment of metals and alloys, and experimental test work.
The safe working temperature, reached in 30 to 35 minutes on standard voltage, is 1750° F. or 955° C. For intermittent periods of comparatively short duration, it may be operated at a maximum temperature of 1850° F. or 1010° C., reached in approximately 50 minutes.
The shell is of sheet steel finished in black, with composition ends, the whole lined with specially moulded insulating slabs of high thermal efficiency. The two leads to each heating unit pass through the back plate to binding posts. The door is of sheet steel lined with insulation and is of the hinged type so constructed that it can be hinged from either the top or the bottom of the furnace chamber.
Both Types 52 and 56 can be operated on either 110 or 220 volts by means of a selective connection on the furnace. Furnaces of standard rating for 110 volts will operate satisfactorily on from 105 to 115 volts. The 220 volt furnace will operate satisfactorily on from 210 to 230 volts. Special windings may be supplied for any voltage up to 250 volts.

BURNER, Braun Pro-Pane—Uses cylinder gas, producing an exceedingly hot, clean, blue flame. Cylinder gas produces more heat than most fuels used with assay furnaces, costs less and is safer. This burner is simply constructed without air adjustments. The force of the gas from the jet entrains air into the mixing chamber, making just the right mixture for complete combustion. No generating, pumping or priming is necessary.
The Braun Pro-Pane burner will not burn in the open. It is used in connection with a burner boss which allows the proper amount of air to enter around the burner. This burner can be used with all sizes of Braun Assay Furnaces. Complete with burner boss.
FURNACE, Oil Burning, Muffle Type, DFC Assay—Complete equipment includes furnace, oil burner, fuel tank, motor and blower, and stand. When ordering, specify the voltage and cycles of the current for driving the motor if A.C . or the voltage if D.C.
