10-20 Ton/Hr Small Gold Wash Plant / Tails Recovery IGR500 System

With the rising price of gold and the limited amount of mineable land, people are now focusing on the recovery of fine gold. Some rivers of the world have been sluiced as many as 6 times, yielding profitable gold each time – and demonstrating that traditional sluices can have very poor recovery.

“Small” Gold Wash Plants like the IGR500 focuses on the recovery of Fine Gold.

The submersible feed pump can be placed in the belly pan of a trommel/screen deck, placed directly in the tails of a sluice or used as a booster pump for dredge operations.

  • The pre-screened gravel is transported to the plant by 2 5 HP, 3-inch submersible slurry pumps.
    The feed pumps are the same model as the transport pump for the commonality of parts.
  • The maximum solids capacity of the pump is 7/8 inch, 1/2 inch recommended
    -Screened by a sluice plant, trommel, vibrating screen, grizzly or suction dredge
  • The slurry is distributed over the single-deck vibrating screen
    -The -2mm material is pumped to the i350 Concentrator
    -The +2mm material is passed to the high-efficiency sluice
  • A specially designed hopper acts to dewater/thicken the slurry while paying close attention to retaining the fine and/or floating gold
  • A third 5 HP, 3-inch submersible pump transports the -2mm slurry to the concentrator.
    The plant includes 3 x 5HP submersible pumps: Model KZN37.

This plant is ideal to enhance the recovery from a Land Dredge with or without Laterite/Saprolite Clay.

A Land Dredge is an effective way to break up and transport clay. Through the action in the impellor and turbulence within the hose, the land dredge is one of the most economical means of dispersing and transporting clay.

The IGR 500 Modular Gold Processing Plant

It uses a Cyclone for Dewatering to Maximize the Efficiency of the iCON for Maximum Fine Gold Recovery

  • The plant is ideally placed at the end of your existing sluice
  • Your sluice will act as an efficient nugget trap for the large gold
  • The IGR 500 will be dedicated to the recovery of fine gold

How is Works

  • Your sluice tails may be screened to -90mm and 10% to 15% solids
  • A static grizzly is used to scalp the oversize rock and allows only 12mm- material to pass to vibrating screen
  • The 12mm+ grizzly overflow passes by gravity to the tails
  • The slurry is distributed over the inclined single deck polyurethane vibrating screen
    The +2mm screen oversize pass to tails
    The -2mm material is pumped at say 3% to 8% solids to the Hydro Cyclone to remove excess water
  • The Cyclone Overflow is essentially 99% water and ultra-fine silt/clay/slime. This can be recirculated or passed to the tails
  • The Cyclone Underflow passes by gravity to the i350 Concentrator. Ideally this feed is 10 tons per hour of solids and 30 m3 of total slurry. This is equivalent to 28% solids by weight.

What this small gold wash plant includes:

The IGR 500-2 is ideal to use in conjunction with a 6” land dredge. The 2 cyclones can process 800 gpm of slurry. The 2 x i350 concentrators can process 20 tph of -2mm solids with surges to 30 tph. Land dredges and sluices normally have a very thin slurry. The cyclones are used to remove the excess water and provide an efficient slurry density to the concentrators.

  • One (1) Static Grizzly with 12mm openings
  • One (1) Sepro 1.0m X 2.0 m inclined vibrating screen with 2mm; polyurethane screen media, dual electric vibrating drive motors 2 x 2HP (4 HP), spray bar assembly with nozzles
  • One (1) 30 HP heavy-duty slurry transfer pump.
  • 1 or 2 iCON i350 Concentrator(s) complete with VFD drive and push button rinse operation, 5 HP electric motor, iCON components mounted in a custom steel frame assembly
  • 1 or 2 5 inch Dewatering Cyclones
  • One (1) Electrical controls for all plant equipment including variable frequency drives for slurry transfer pump, i350 concentrator(s) all mounted in a single protective enclosure. All VFDs are NEMA 4, rain proof.
  • Two (2) 3” Slurry feed pumps, 5 HP, abrasion resistant high chrome wet end, with 10 meters each of 3” rubber slurry hose: Model KZN37
  • One (1) 3” Concentrator slurry feed pump, 5 HP, abrasion resistant high chrome wet end, concentrator slurry feed hose: Model KZN37
  • One (1) or 2 Skid frame assembly for mounting vibrating screen, concentrator, sluice box complete with inlet water manifold, internal water and slurry piping, screen feed box, screen oversize chute, screen undersize chute, screen undersize sump
  • One (1) 10’ long sluice with expanded metal and 12mm nomad type collection matting and steel riffles

What’s Not Included

  • Clean Water Pump : 75 USGPM. Suggested pump is Goulds 3196 with 10 HP and foot valve; Capable of 75 gpm, 10 ft of suction head and 130’ of discharge head
  • Generator: 35 kw recommended, 220/50-60/3 phase. Actual current consumption is 88 Full Load Amps
    (FLA). The recommended generator capacity is double the actual consumption of the plant for the reliability of the generator.

The i350 Concentrator operates efficiently at 10 tph solids with a max of 15tph of 2mm
The dual 5 HP feed pumps have a capacity of 90 m^3/hr (400 gpm) of water at 15’ dynamic head each, for a total of 180 m^3/hr (800 gpm) at 15’ dynamic head.

Possible feed conditions include:

  • 20 tph with 10% solids = 180 m^3/hr
  • 30 tph with 15% solids = 180 m^3/hr
  • 40 tph with 20% solids = 180 m^3/hr

The overall capacity is the maximum capacity of the concentrator or feed pumps, whichever comes first.

The specially designed hopper acts to dewater/thicken the slurry while focusing on capturing fine/floating gold. A typical application may involve feeding 800 gpm to the plant, and only 115 gpm to the concentrator.
Here the feed to the plant may be 10% to 20% solids and the hopper would thicken the slurry to 30% solids for the concentrator.
